Wincle Brewery

Not many villages of this size can claim their own brewery. Wincle Beer Company brews a range of traditional ales right here in the village, and a visit is one of the easiest and most enjoyable outings you can make during your stay, just a short walk from the farm.

What to expect

The brewery produces a changing range of cask ales with names that nod to local life and landmarks. Depending on when you visit you may find the brewery shop open for bottles and gifts, or catch one of their tasting sessions and open days. It is a friendly, unpretentious place and the team are generous with their knowledge.

Make an outing of it

A visit pairs naturally with the rest of the village:

• Walk over the fields to the pub for a pint of Wincle ale where it is brewed to be drunk
• Pick up bottles from the brewery shop to enjoy back at your cottage
• Combine the visit with a walk along the River Dane below the village
